Australia is a dream destination for most travel lovers. With some of the world’s most beautiful natural landscapes, diverse culture, great food, exquisite wines and a lifetime of unforgettable experiences, Australia is the place to go. Traveling to Australia has gradually become more convenient with better connectivity with the rest of the world, affordable flight tickets and easier Australian tourist visa application process. In a previous post, we had emphasized on why you should travel to Australia in 2019, here we bring to you a list of five experiences you must have during your trip that will make your Australian adventure a memorable one.

Snorkeling or Diving in the Great Barrier Reef

One of the greatest natural wonders in the world, the Great Barrier Reef is a must-visit destination in Australia. With an abundance of breathtaking marine life, colourful coral reefs and several stunning tropical islands, this is one of the most beautiful places you can find on the planet. The long network of coral reefs runs along the entire north eastern coast of Australia with several locations perfect for snorkeling and scuba diving. Exploring the unique and diverse underwater world in the Great Barrier Reef is an exhilarating once in a lifetime experience. The cities of Cairns and Port Douglas are great jumping off points for scuba diving and snorkeling tours in the region. A lot of boat tours from several other places along coastal Queensland provide snorkeling experiences too.

Witness a Sporting Event

Australia is well renowned as a sporting nation and sports is embedded in the culture of the Australian people. Getting to witness a sporting event in Australia is one of the most unforgettable experiences you can have. With marquee events such as the Australian Open, Boxing Day cricket test match, Big Bash League and the rugby season, sporting events on a global scale happen all year round in Australia. Watching a live game with the Australian public at some of the world class venues across any sport, is nothing less than a carnival like atmosphere with a lot of vibrant energy all around. You would not just witness the game but also experience the love for sports among the people of Australia.

Vineyards of Tasmania

The region of Tasmania is one of the most beautiful places in Australia and is also the producer of some of the world’s finest wines. The cool climate and mild temperatures here makes this a perfect place to produce a wide range of great tasting wines. Going on vineyard tours and exploring the wineries across Tasmania would be a unique twist to an otherwise adventurous Australian adventure. There quite a few wine routes around and nearby Hobart in the south and the town of Launceston in the north of the island. With several wine tasting and vineyard tours to choose from, you will always be in great spirits during the entire experience.

Drive along the many coastal routes

It is a well known fact that Australia is a great place for epic road trips most people only relate to the Australian outback. However, the coastal routes of Australia provide some of the most amazing road trip experiences you can have. In fact, some of the coastal routes in the country, such as the Great Ocean Road and Great Southern Way, are considered among the best road trips in the world. Driving the coastal routes in Australia will take you across 50000 kms of shoreline where you can explore some of the iconic natural landmarks such as The Twelve Apostles, Pinnacles, Apollo Bay and many more. The spellbinding scenic beauty of coastal Australia will surely leave you enchanted as you drive along the stunning coastal routes across the country.

The Aborigines are among the two groups of Indigenous population in Australia and are considered the original settlers of the country before the arrival of Europeans in the 18th century. What is fascinating about the Aborigines is they have preserved their culture and way of life even through the development and modernization of Australia. The Aborigines are a part of the rich cultural history of the country and it would be a worthwhile to experience the Aboriginal culture and understand their relevance in the context of modern day Australia. Attending cultural events like the Yabun Festival in Sydney or Tjungu Festival in Uluru, is a great way to experience and celebrate Aboriginal culture through art, song, dance and food. You can also go on organized ethical tours by Australian Tourism where you can learn about the history about Aborigines and have a day out among them living their way of life, learning fishing and crab hunting techniques, and have a sea-side meal among those people. This experience will let you take a little bit of cultural history with you besides the many adventures you would have in Australia.
